Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this Taylor Made marine gas strut for boat hatches. Now, this is going to replace one worn or damaged ball and socket gas strut from your boat's hatch lid or compartment door. It extends to ease the lifting of your hatch lid and then it compresses to gently close your hatch without slamming. This is a 13 millimeter ball and socket installation.
Let me try and give you a close up there of those connectors. So, you're gonna simply attach the ball studs on the inside of your boat hatch to these connectors. And this is constructed of a heat treated steel, so it is durable. And it features a corrosion resistant coating that's going to make it great for saltwater environments. Now, let me retrieve my tape measure here and just give you the extended length.
And I am measuring center of socket to center of socket, and we are sitting right at 36 1/2 inches on that extended length. Center to center, 36 1/2 inches. The compression force is 120 pounds. So, you are gonna get one strut. And if you are also needing to replace those ball studs, on your screen, I am including the item number that you can punch in on the search field of our website and that will take you to the Taylor Made 13 millimeter ball studs for gas struts.
Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
